Welcome to Newberry Center
The Newberry was built in 1910 to house township officials, the local Masonic Lodge, and a beautiful opera house with balcony, orchestra pit and under-stage dressing rooms. Today the building houses the Newberry Theater Foundation (NTF), a non-profit organization committed to the restoration of the theater and the promotion of cultural arts in the Miami Valley.
The NTF sponsors special fund-raising events each year, including our kid-friendly Haunted Theater Tours and family-friendly games of Live BackStage Clue. This year the NTF is also sponsoring a Gospel Blues Revival featuring Midnight Son on Saturday, September 20th. The NTF also rents the theater and adjoining kitchen space to businesses and individuals looking for that truly unique location for up to 99 people for their special event, company meeting or reception. See our terms and conditions.
The Perfect Location for Your Special Occasion
There truly is no place like the Newberry in the Miami Valley. Built at the turn of the last century, the Newberry Theater exudes a simple elegance that captures the area’s important role in America’s westward expansion, with crystal-clear acoustics and excellent sight lines from every seat. The Newberry showcased traveling vaudeville troupes, silent films and school plays until the stage went dark in 1947. The theater remained silent until the fall of 2007 when the NTF re-opened this rare, rural American treasure to the public.
Now you can rent this unique facility for your special family gathering or company event. Take a photo tour for more details. A newly renovated concession kitchen is also available for rent, allowing you to bring your own food and drink – including alcohol, for significant event savings. Wireless internet access is also available.
